In Ontario, the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) helps cover the costs of hearing aids for eligible individuals. The ADP provides financial assistance to those who require specific medical devices, including hearing aids, to help with daily living. Here’s how it works:

  1. Eligibility

To be eligible for the ADP funding for hearing aids, you generally need to meet the following criteria:

  • Ontario resident with a valid Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) number.
  • Prescription for hearing aids
  1. Funding Coverage
  • The ADP subsidizes up to 75% of the cost of a hearing aid, up to a set maximum amount of $500 per hearing aid.
  1. How to Apply
  1. What You Pay
  • You are responsible to pay the remaining balance post ADP
  • We offer manufacturer discounts and affordable hearing aid prices. Whether you’re looking for the best price, top performance, or a great balance between the two, we have the perfect device for you.
  1. Replacement of Hearing Aids
  • ADP provides funding for replacement hearing aids every 5 years, unless there’s a special medical need. Additionally, if repair costs exceed 33% of the original purchase price, you may also be eligible for funding.
  1. Additional Financial Support
  • Some private insurance plans or benefits might provide additional coverage to help with the remaining costs. Other organization such as WSIB, Veterans Affairs (VA), Indigenous Affairs, Social Services, Holocaust Fund will pay for hearing aid in full if you are eligible.
